he Honourable Society of the Inner Temple is currently seeking to appoint an experienced Scholarships & Students Manager.

 The role will primarily be responsible for administering the Inner Temple Scholarship Awards and the Pegasus Trust.

 The Inner Temple is one of the four Inns of Court, providing a wide range of membership and educational services to barristers, judges and those training to be barristers. The Education & Training Department is responsible for the recruitment of student barristers to the Inn, the award of scholarships, career guidance, advocacy training and Continuing Professional Development for qualified barristers.

 Some weekend and evening work is required but these dates are arranged in advance.

 Reporting to the Director of Education, theScholarships & Students Manager’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


  • Administration of all Scholarships and other Awards

  • Offer general support and advise to student members

  • Coordinating the selection of all incoming Pegasus scholars

  • Overseeing registration of all new students

  • Attending events such as pupillage fairs, law fairs and open days

  • Acting as Secretary to the Scholarships Committee, Pegasus Committee and Qualifying Sessions Sub-Committee, preparing papers, agendas, meetings etc

  • Preparing the annual budget bid for scholarships 

 Requirements for the role of Scholarships & Students Manager:

  • Experience in a similar role

  • Event organisation/management experience is essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is essential

  • Excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills

  • Good knowledge of mainstream IT packages (Microsoft Office) including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • An understanding of the legal sector would be advantageous
