Area Business Development Representative – New Business Development Opportunity
The Area Business Development Representative – New Business Development is responsible for developing and executing a strategy for large ($10 - $50 million in revenue) area accounts to drive Company sales volume, growth, as well as, maximize opportunities for the customer at this leading industrial distributor. Only those with a strong track record of New Business Development sales, professional sales presence, experience as an industrial or commercial sales professional, and a desire to have a direct impact on the sales and profitability of a respected company need apply. This is a "hunter" position.
This Area Business Development Representative – New Business Development position will require and be attractive to a person who has sold to sophisticated larger customer relationships in the commercial and industrial industries. An extensive interview process will separate the pretenders from the performers. Only those truly qualified need apply for this highly compensated opportunity. This position is based in the North Detroit MI area and will cover a geography within a few hours drive of Detroit.

The ideal candidate for this Area Business Development Representative – New Business Development will be polished but aggressive in their approach to customer opportunities, entrepreneurial in how they plan and manage their geographic territory, but able to interface effectively with significant corporate resources to support customers needs, and a person who is team-oriented. Excellent proposal development, presentation and negotiating skills will be required to succeed in this role. The primary customer audience is senior executives/managers, and the successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in gaining access and selling to the senior level decision makers in the commercial and industrial space.. Previous experience with larger or regional or national accounts is required.
This position will be highly compensated, with a total compensation of $115,000+. Base salary is $57,500; variable monthly compensation is $4,800 ($57,500 annually) and uncapped. For 1st nine months a significant portion of monthly variable compensation guaranteed. Includes 401K match, car/car allowance, phone, laptop, etc.
Area Business Development Representative – New Business Development Requirements
•A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
•Minimum of four years industrial/commercial/manufacturing/distribution outside sales experience and direct account responsibility is required.
SKILLS: Experience outside B2B sales and larger account penetration, negotiation, and executive/manager level sales success is required.
•Excellent sales, negotiation, and team building skills and techniques is required.
•Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is required.
•Knowledge of e-business as it relates to national account is required.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required.
•This position will travel 50% within the geography.
