General Ledger Accountant
Regular full time Accounting and Tax Preparation
This role prepares and consolidates financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, analyzes cash flow, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and manages internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting to attain company goals. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. How you will make an impact - Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives - Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP - Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary - Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and SOX testing with internal and external auditors - Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner - Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations - When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests - Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process - Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company - Skilled at time management - Efficient in ERP systems, Viewpoint preferred - 5+ years of overall general accounting experience - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - BA/BS in Accounting - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail - Proven knowledge of month end closings - General ledger experience - Strong familiarity with US GAAP - Practical knowledge of financial statement preparation - Foundational knowledge in intercompany accounts - Well-founded grasp of financial analysis - General familiarity with financial reporting - Account reconciliation experience highly desired - Quality experience with standard costs - Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
